Upcoming Courses & Workshops

Date:
The Barefoot and Core fitness workshop with Guest Teacher Mon, 26 Jun 2017 at 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm

our feet and core muscles are connected.

It’s not often we think about this, but through connective tissue the muscles and tissues underneath the foot link to the core muscles and the pelvic floor and when one isn’t working optimally it can impact the other.

By stimulating the sensory rich nerve endings in the feet we can create a better connection throughout the body, improve pelvic floor and core function, balance and reduce foot related issues such as plantar fasciitis!

Learn how to improve your core and pelvic floor function by “switching on your feet in fitness”

This workshop will help you to:
1. Understand and FEEL the connection between your feet and core muscles
2. Learn how to self-release your foot to improve balance
3. Strengthen your foot to impact your core.
4. Integrate foot and core connection into a fitness class to strengthen the whole body.

Danielle White is a Barefoot Training Specialist, sports therapist and movement coach and has 10 years working in the health and wellness industry. Initially training as a contemporary dancer she understands the important of the feet in relation to movement and performance and has worked with many clients to help with feet related issues and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Is your body in balance? with Barbara Mastropirro Mon, 10 Jul 2017 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

We live in a society where demands of home, work, family and finances can exhaust our body capacity to heal. We can all shut down in different ways when under stress; some of us suffer from digestive complaints, other with migraines or neck/back/knee pain but we know that in order to live a life in full we need our body and mind working harmoniously together. Kinesiology can help reduce stress from our body and mind and they work more effectively for us so we can happily get on with our live.

This is a list of unpleasant problems, among many others, that I can address with Kinesiology.
Being tired all the time
Back and neck aches
Anxiety and depression
Joints pain
Migraines and headaches
Infections
Lung issues and hay fever Food sensitivities
IBS and digestive issues…

Kinesiology is integrally a client-based therapy. It is totally reliant on biofeedback from the client to direct the therapy. Muscle bio-feedback is used to identify stress issues, the nature of the problem and the related therapy to apply. This opening evening will be an opportunity to find out more about Kinesiology and how it can help you bringing your body back in balance and to discuss with Barbara any issue you might be affected with.

Women's Wellbeing Masterclass – Tapping the Power of the Feminine: 24th & 31st July 2017 with Jenni Stone Mon, 24 Jul 2017 at 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm

We excited to bring you a new masterclass just for woman! Do you find challenges with peaks and dips of energy and emotions? Do you sometimes feel like superwoman and other times like you want to hide under the duvet? Perhaps sometimes you feel life is beautiful and you are tolerant and understanding and at other times you rage against injustice or are overwhelmed by the problems of the world. Rest assured this is normal and you are not alone! Jenni has spent over 16 years working in the field of complementary healthcare and personal development, the majority of my experience having been with woman through all stages of their lives. This work has been developed through the journeys of Jenni’s clients and her own experience with pregnancy and postnatal recovery, that denial or suppression of the feminine is a key factor in the issues women face with their physical and mental health. As women we are often told that our body, our hormones, our emotions are a problem or a weakness. Your body however is not the enemy! This view is that women’s health problems are often the by-product of not honouring the cycles and powers of the feminine. In addition to this, medical and social attempts to control these issues create further problems by unbalancing our systems further. In this two-part masterclass, Jenni will share with you how we can live more in tune with ourselves and our environment by honouring our bodies and the natural cycles of life. You will learn how to have more energy, manage your stress, improve your pelvic health, detox your home, create your own yoga practice, and tap into your intuition to find answers to questions in your life!

Part 1
Will be based on theory and self-exploration. As women our energies and strengths are not linear but cyclical. The best evidence of this for many women is our monthly cycle, but there are daily, yearly and life time cycles that interact with this too. We will look at how these cycles move within women throughout our lives and how they form and reflect our inner ecosystem. Maintaining this inner ecosystem is crucial to our physical, mental and emotional wellbeing and allows us to tap into our powers of creativity, intuition and wisdom. We will also look at lifestyle factors that affect this balance such as stress, sleep, diet, environmental toxins and synthetic hormones. This workshop will help you understand your unique cycles and what you need to thrive and live life fully.

Recommended reading with part 1 – Wild Power by Alexandra Pope and Sjanie Hugo Wurlitzer

Part 2
Will be a practical yoga class that looks at how we can apply the information learned in part 1 to our own yoga practice. We will look at underlying principles of self-care and learn specific practises to help you create your own personalized yoga programme so that wherever you are in life right now, you will be able to nurture yourself. My belief that is our yoga practice should fit us as individuals rather forcing ourselves to fit an idea of how yoga ‘should’ be practiced. In this workshop we will look at how to honour your cycle in your regular yoga class and also learn specific practises to nurture woman throughout our lives. This will include practises for a healthy pelvic floor, practises to support menstruation, practises to embrace menopause as well as restorative poses and yoga nidra.
